REHABILITATION SERVICES

Our rehabilitation services are aimed at the goals of returning each patient to their prior level of function and improving their quality of life. We provide comprehensive services, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy, to all of our residents who require rehabilitation services. Our therapists are trained to evaluate and treat the underlying impairments causing disabilities.

Our facility offers rehabilitation programs for patients who may have the following needs:

• Amputation Reconditioning/Strengthening

Intravenous Therapy Services are provided to meet individual resident needs and plan of care. Residents may receive treatment that includes:

• Fluids for hydration
• Pain Management
• Antibiotic Therapy

Our Respiratory services are designed to treat residents with acute to chronic lung disease. Our respiratory services provide support for residents with a variety of diagnonses and care that may include:

• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• Cancer
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Muscular Dystrophy
• Cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation
• Quadriplegia
•Tracheostomy Management
• Apnea disorders

Our Bariatric services are designed to promote and maintain the resident’s quality of life. Using a multi-disciplinary approach, dedicated professionals educated in the treatment of bariatric care work with the resident, their family, and their physicians to establish a plan of care while in the facility and for the resident’s residential setting. Our Bariatric residents may receive services such as:

• Specialized Nutritional Management
• Specialized equipment, utilizing Bariatric specific guidelines
• Exercise therapy program
• Psychosocial support


Complex Care - 24 Hour Skilled Nursing

Our capable and experienced nursing staff is dedicated to providing residents with the highest quality care possible. All of our RNs and LPNs have been trained through accredited nursing schools and maintain licensure.

Supporting our registered nurses is a team of Certified Nursing Assistants with the aptitude and sincere desire to work with the aged and infirm. As integral members of our nursing team, they provide our professional nursing personnel with hands-on assistance and work hard to ensure that our residents achieve the highest level of functioning and the most comfortable lifestyle possible.

The nursing department of The Bridges of Statesville is a genuine asset to the community. The leadership has a strong knowledge base and is driven to providing the best care to those we serve; clients needing short-term rehabilitation, long term assistance, or end of life compassion. The staff is committed to providing individual client centered care to all.


Activity Department

Our activity staff is experienced in developing and implementing programs that appeal to all of our residents. While diverse abilities, conditions, and personalities can sometimes make this a challenge, our staff considers it a labor of love.

Our evolving menu of programs is designed to meet the specific needs of each and every resident. They include both individual and group activities and often incorporate volunteers from the local community to provide variety as well as broader social interaction for our residents.

Independent activities are designed based on past resident experiences as well as individual assessments and may include reading, books on tape, crafts, puzzles, games, music, and clergy visits, to name a few. Group programs may include an endless array of activities, such as:

• Crafts
• Cooking
• Gardening
• Community excursions
• Social events
• Musical presentations
• Sing-a-longs
• Church services

Social Service

The departments’ objective is to facilitate the transition to residential care, assess the residents’ emotional, social and psychological strengths. Identify problems and needs with the goal of promoting autonomy, advocate for the residents’ rights as well as ensuring their goal of reaching their highest practical level of functioning.

The department also focuses on short term rehabilitation stays. The utilization of the interdisciplinary team affords the best outcome. Social services provide referrals to agencies and services to transition residents back to their prior living arrangements. The social work department promotes self-determination, upholds resident rights, and assures treatment with dignity and respect and ultimately advocates for the resident/family system.

Dietary Services

The dietary department goes out of its way to provide meals that are home cooked. The dietary department plays a key role in not only providing nutritious meals but also in identifying the individual likes and dislikes as well as eating patterns prior to admission to make the resident’s dining experience as homelike as possible. Our kitchen is able to provide our residents with mechanically or therapeutic diets as ordered by his / her attending physician. Some of these special diets include but are not limited to diabetic restrictions, low sodium, low cholesterol, pureed, mechanical soft, renal diet, regular, etc. All meals are served restaurant style.
