The Mane Attraction - (423) 595-5409

We are the Hamilton County 4-H horse club. Our group is passionate about horses and we are dedicated to learning about this beautiful animal.

The Hamilton County 4-H Mane Attraction is a club that focuses on learning and expanding ones knowledge of equines. Our club participates in several competitions throughout the year.

Hippology: The Study of the Horse
Hippology is where we study everything about the horse from diseases to barn management. We start studying for this competition in October and compete in a test of knowledge in January.

Judging:
In Judging we learn about conformation, the way a horse is put together, and the way a horse moves. In judging, participants get to learn how to judge horse shows. Judging starts after we have completed the hippology competition. The judging competition is held in April.

Horse Shows: For those who have their own horse or who are able borrow a horse, 4-Hers get the opportunity to compete in county, regional and state horse shows. Horse shows are in the summer.

County Fair:
Every year in September the 4-H puts on an exhibition at the Hamilton County Fair. We do many presentations that teach the public about horses.

We meet the first monday of every month at 6:30 at the Saddle Pals Riding club. Our group is open to 4th-12th graders. Participants do not have to own a horse to be a member.
