Theodore Payne Foundation for Wild Flowers and Native Plants - (818) 768-1802

The Theodore Payne Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization devoted to California native plants and headquarted on 22 acres of canyon land in the northeast corner of the San Fernando Valley.

The Theodore Payne Foundation (TPF) operates the full-service Theodore Payne Nursery in Sun Valley -- open to the public year round and offering, over the course of a year, more than 800 different native plant species and cultivars, as well as 200 kinds of native plant seed. It is the largest retail nursery in Los Angeles County devoted exclusively to native plants.

TPF also offers gardening and natural science classes for adults, programs for children (K-12) on-site and at schools, and operates the Wildflower Hotline every March through May.

Visitors are welcome to browse the Theodore Payne Gallery (with new art exhibits each season), peruse the library, stroll through demonstration gardens and hike up to Wildflower Hill. Our informative website (theodorepayne.org) includes an illustrated native plant library, our weekly nursery inventory and more.

Native plants and advice are also available at our space at the Hollywood Farmers' Market (at Selma & Ivar) on the first Sunday of each month from 8:00am-1:00pm.
