From the vintage hand crafted front door to the animatronic robots that greet you as you enter the store you will think you have walked into a different world and especially not a typical furniture store. The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse is definately not your typical furniture store. The owners Tony and Mabeth Grout along with their daughter Sherry made sure of that. Everywhere you look there are surprizes that will amaze and make you shake you head a bit in disbelief, such as the ultralight airplane that is suspended from the ceiling in one showroom or the 7 scale miles of suspended "G" scale rail road track that runs from showroom to showroom and even into the warehouse. The player piano, the giant crab, and talking animals will also amuse and delight you and your familiy as you wander through acres of the best and best priced furniture on the west coast. From name brands to locally made furniture, The Cannery has it all under one roof.
A history of the cannery can be found on the web site but suffice it to say that in the 25 years that the store has been open it has served thousands and thousands of puget sound residents who continue to return to find the quality and price they have come to expect from The Old Cannery. It is not uncommon to hear customers speak of the early years and how 80,000 square feet of showroom was heated by wood stoves yet you could still see your breath in the chilly air. Or how in the past 10 years the store has made it a mission to give back to the community by providing family entertainment and spectacles that you would only expect to find somewhere like a Disneyland only here the admission ticket is free.
