The Van Horn Advocate is the weekly newspaper for Van Horn, Culberson County and the surrounding area. It has been published consecutively since 1910.

The Van Horn Advocate is a community newspaper dedicated to bringing local and area news to our readers. The editor believes that all points are view should be presented. That's why we welcome letters to the editor. The Advocate subscribes to the school of doing journalism the old-fashioned way. We will not print gossip or half-truths. We will print the facts, based upon solid sources.

Letters Policy: Letters to the editor are welcomed. All letters should be kept as brief as possible. They must be signed with name, address and telephone number, in case need arises for verification. The Advocate reserves the right to edit letters for grammar, spelling, punctuation and for potential libel. Letters do not necessarily reflect the editorial position of the newspaper. Deadline to receive letters for publication is close of business on Tuesday.
