A subsidiary of Verdi Productions
The Woodhaven Production Company was formed by established Rhode Island businessman and producer Chad A. Verdi. WPC is an independent and fully-funded media production company based in a 10,000 sq. foot facility at 461 Main Street in East Greenwich, Rhode Island with additional offices located at 230 Park Avenue in New York City.
The Company just produced their first two features. The first is a horror film, Inkubus, about an ageless demon who seeks revenge on the only man who ever came close to stopping him and features Nightmare on Elm Street legend Robert Englund and a tour-de-force performance by William Forsythe (The Devil’s Rejects) atop a talented ensemble cast. Their latest film, Loosies, a twist on the traditional romantic comedy, wrapped in early August and showcases a truly eclectic cast that spans from the bankable popularity of writer/star Peter Facinelli (Twilight) and female lead, Jaimie Alexander (Thor), to the well-earned creative credibility of co-stars like Joey Pantoliano (The Matrix) and Vincent Gallo (Buffalo ’66). Both projects have already created a buzz as WPC continues to grow into one of the truly unique production companies set to make waves in the industry.
From pre-production all the way through to post, The Company is capable of giving its creative talent the tools for the job, and keeping all aspects of the filmmaking process in house. Owning nearly all of the equipment, from cameras and lenses to multi-platform editing suites with specialized workflows developed through their growing expertise, allows control of a project to stay with WPC from inception to the sale. In addition, by embracing the latest technology, like Canon’s 5D Mark II, and truly outside-the-box thinking, they are capable of changing the balance of a traditional indie film budget, granting WPC the space to attach high-quality, inspired casts to their projects, producing films that are as creatively special as they are economically practical.
With over 25 years of film and business experience, The Company brings a tremendous amount of talent, personal dedication and most importantly financial viability to the independent film industry. Over an eighteen month period that began last spring, WPC’s principal players will be producing five feature films. Principal photography is set for October of 2010, when the zombie film evolves with INFECTED, starring Michael Madsen (Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill) and re-teaming Forsythe with writer/director Glenn Ciano. In 2012 WPC will bring the real-life comeback story of Vinny Pazienza to the big screen with Paz. The Rhode Island-born boxer was welterweight champion of the world when he broke his neck in a tragic car accident and was told by medical experts that he may never walk again. Against doctor’s advice and incredible odds he re-learned how to crawl, to walk and to fight once more, becoming a world champion three more times and proving that an indomitable will was his most powerful weapon.
The driving force of The Woodhaven Production Company’s rapid growth comes directly from the passion, hard work, and expertise of its people, starting right from the top, “The Company is currently in the process of attaching some of Hollywood’s biggest names to fill our BOD and BOA seats and continue to add on to our companies worth and flexibility,” says President and CEO Verdi, “we work hard, we love what we do, and we’re only getting better. This is going to be lot of fun.
