Save a Life...Adopt a Homeless Pet!

We run an open-admission shelter and contract with local government to provide animal control services to Thomas County and the 7 municipalities therein. Our present facility has been located at 180 Big Star Drive for more than 20 years and can now shelter over 300 animals at a time. Like all humane societies and SPCAs we are independent and are not affiliated with, nor do we receive regular funding from, any national animal welfare organizations or advocacy groups. The aforementioned animal control contract provides about 40% of our yearly income. Memberships, donations, grants, and fundraising efforts, therefore, make up the majority of our annual revenue.

Your interest in the welfare of the lost, homeless, abused, and abandoned pets in our community is greatly appreciated and vital to our continued success. Only financial support received locally will ensure our future and allow us to continue to care for the 4,000 animals per year that come through our doors. Your continued support means that the ones that do not have to be euthanized for reasons of health or public safety have a chance to find a good, loving home. We work hard to be the area’s leading advocate for animal welfare. Please help us continue to help them with your financial support!

Adoption fee is $100 and allows us to provide the following with each pet:

Spay/Neuter*
Rabies vaccination*
Microchip with I.D. tag
First annual vaccinations
Deworming
Heartworm testing for dogs over 6 months
FIV/Leukemia testing for cats of all ages
30 days of free ShelterCare Pet Insurance
Free physical examination within 5 days of adoption**
