Thompson Eye Center is located inside the Sam's Club in Kansas City, MO, but you do not have to be a member to have an eye exam.

Our office is located inside of the new Kansas City Sam’s Club, but you don’t have to be a member to come see us. Our team is here to offer you complete care for your eyes. We can provide an eye exam, fit you for contact lenses and evaluate the health of your eyes. We are also capable of managing eye conditions such as dryness, conjunctivitis, infections, and many more complications.

Dr. Thompson is a native of Pennsylvania, where he grew up in the small town of Smithfield. He attended Virginia Tech and Penn State University for his undergraduate studies where he majored in Engineering and Biology. He received his optometry education at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. It was here where he fell in love with the profession and gained his knowledge and skills to provide high quality eye care. Attending school in Puerto Rico allowed Dr. Thompson to become clinically bilingual in English and Spanish. During Optometry School, Dr. Thompson rotated though clinics specializing in primary eye care, contact lens, pediatrics, geriatrics, and low vision. After graduation Dr. Thompson moved to the Kansas City area and became licensed to practice optometry in both Kansas and Missouri. Dr. Thompson is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Kansas Optometric Association, and was a Student Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In his spare time, Dr. Thompson is an avid triathlete and enjoys ice hockey, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
