The Tiffin PD K9 Unit has assisted the Tiffin Police Department and countless other agencies since 1990. Tiffin PD has had four police canines and is working on getting their fifth dog.
The K9 Unit is a specialized combination of man and canine working together to assist the police department in the solving of crimes. A K9 Unit can be used to detect the odor of illegal drugs in vehicles, buildings, residences and outside areas, can track suspects or missing persons, can detect people hidden in buildings, can find discarded evidence in open fields and along roadsides, and can apprehend fleeing suspects.
