Incorporated in 1985, The official "Town of Pawleys Island" is comprised solely of the residences and two oceanfront inns located on the actual island. The Town of Pawleys Island sponsors and maintains an official “Town of Pawleys Island” Facebook Fan Page. The purpose of the page is to inform “Fans” about pertinent Town information, events, public service announcements, emergency-related items, and other public affairs activities. All posts on the page are done by the Town Public Information Office. The “Town of Pawleys Island” Facebook Fan Page is monitored regularly and any comments added by “Fans” that do not fit with the Page’s purpose or are political in nature; use offensive or inappropriate language; advertise a specific non Town-sponsored event, business, or service; specifically address Town Council or Board Members or Town employees; or need to be addressed individually, will be removed and appropriate follow-up will occur as necessary.
