The Truckee River Foundation (“TRF”) was formed to promote and enhance river-related values in the Truckee Meadows through the focus on five objectives.
• River Safety – Provide community river safety education, including access to river safety equipment and instruction in safe river recreation.
• River Education – Provide educational materials to teachers and students regarding Truckee River issues including water quality, habitat and recreation
• River Access – Develop, fund and promote safe river passage and recreational improvements on the Truckee River for adventure sports, athletic training and ecological enhancement.
• Athletic Development – Encourage local involvement, environmental education, leadership development, and personal growth in local young people through river sports.
• Special Events – Support and produce recreational events in the region that focus on river-related recreation.
