a safe, supportive gathering place for all lives affected by addiction
When people choose a life free from addiction, Turning Point is here to help. We offer a safe and welcoming place for recovering people and their loved ones to meet, talk, learn, and grow in recovery. Recovery means you don’t have to be alone.
We are easy to find at 112 Hardwood Way, across from Black Mountain Road on Route 5/Putney Road. Turn into Hardwood Way next to the Taco Bell restaurant. Look for the building with the little "Turning Point" sign and the big "Weight Watchers" sign. We have plenty of free parking and the coffee pot is always brewing. And we are on the bus route!
Turning Point is located in Brattleboro, convenient to everyone in the community: people seeking to begin recovery or to maintain their already established recovery. Some guests have been through treatment programs, and some have histories with the correctional system due to their addictions. Other guests have found recovery from addictions through 12-step and other supportive or spiritual programs. We honor all paths to recovery. Some of our guests have been affected by a loved one's addiction. Our ally's are people whose work assists recovery or who volunteer.
Our Center offers meeting space, recovery resources, peer support, and networking opportunities for people to learn, socialize, grow, and serve our community, free from addictions. A team of volunteers runs the day-to-day center operations. Volunteers greet and interact with guests during the hours the Center is open to the public. Peer-to-peer support means volunteers and guests in recovery share their experiences and support each other in learning to make healthy decisions through various life situations. It can also mean guests learn how to socialize and enjoy entertainment in a safe, sober environment. Programs at TPWC are offered free of charge to ensure they are available to those who need them most, regardless of ability to pay.
