TWOgether Pittsburgh is a coalition whose members include Family Guidance, Inc., The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry, The Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, Smith Brothers Agency, and a team of Evaluators led by Drs. Lucas Musewe and Jean Harvey.
The Coalition was formed in 2002. In 2004 it received a federal grant that allowed the formation of The Marriage Works, the fore runner of TWOgether Pittsburgh. The Marriage Works operated, with great success in Pittsburgh's East until 2009.
TWOgether Pittsburgh is the recipient of an $3.5 million Healthy Marriage Initiative grant. Funding for the grant is through the Administration for Children and Families, (Administration for Children and Families Website http://www.acf.hhs.gov) a division of the U.S Department of Health and Human Services. The funding is one of approximately 75 Grants funded as Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood. Previous to this, from 2006 – 2011, TWOgether Pittsburgh was the recipient of a 5–year, $8.35 million grant that served over 5,000 individuals in Western Pennsylvania with tremendous success in couple relationships and individual relational growth.
TWOgether Pittsburgh is a service of Family Guidance supported by a group of like-minded agencies and individuals who believe in the strengthening of marriages.
