U.P.A. was founded with the intent to end police abuse of authority and to provide support for grassroots and victims’ organizations combating police misconduct in Mendocino County. With a Police Department who deals with police misconduct behind close doors we find a growing need for a citizen oversight board in our community to bring transparency and accountability to these issues. Due to our local paper The Ukiah Daily Journal working hand and hand with Mendocino County Law Enforcement in censoring issues of police misconduct we see a growing need for a community forum to discuss and bring to light these issues. Please use this page as a place to share and to inform fellow citizens of accounts of misconduct by law enforcement here in Mendocino County
