The Vallejo Police Officers’ Association (VPOA) is the recognized bargaining unit between all Vallejo Police Officers and the City of Vallejo.

The Vallejo Police Officers’ Association (VPOA) is the recognized bargaining unit between all Vallejo Police Officers and the City of Vallejo. Members include all ranks of officers – Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, Corporals and Officers. The VPOA does not represent the Chief of Police.
The business function of the VPOA is to protect the collective interests of the members of the Vallejo Police Department and provide benefits to its members. The VPOA is also committed to the safety and security of the citizens of Vallejo and the protection of life and property. The VPOA also supports community activities and youth outreach with its involvement with the Police Activities League, Little League Teams, the Chamber of Commerce and the Visitor's & Convention Bureau.
The Vallejo Police Officers’ Association was incorporated on December 5, 1957. Officers Charles E. Martin, John W. Kregelo, Paul L. Clark, Melvin A. Cotter and Harold P. Kramer drew up the Articles of Incorporation to “promote and protect the individual, common, mutual and collective interests of members of the Vallejo Police Department.” It was originally called the Vallejo Police Association.
