Valley View Farm - (917) 592-4999

120 acres of agriculture and aspirations

Where century-old sugar maples and pioneer valley farming history meet forward-thinking farmers, you’ll find Valley View Farm. We invite you to learn more about what we offer today, and our plans for tomorrow.

The Farm
It started with the sugar maples planted along the old carriage path leading to our circa-1850 farmhouse. And we knew: this was where we wanted to put down some roots of our own.

Our farm is a dream come to life– we are committed to finding creative ways to sustain the vitality of Pioneer Valley’s agriculture for our own children, and all future generations. For us, this isn’t just a living – it’s a lifestyle choice.

Our 50 acres of open fields are home to maple syrup, flowers, peaches, and apples, and pumpkins. We sell what we grow, now at the farm; and soon, in our new sugar house.
Susan and David

The Farmers
Taken by the farm’s wonderful past and potential for the future, Susan Fortgang and David Nehring bought Valley View in 2011. David is a third generation farmer and sugar maker, and grew up on the last working farm in Northampton, Massachusetts. City bred Sue gave up corporate life for a healthier one. She brings her business experience and passion about the health benefits of maple syrup to the project. And together with their children Michaela and Robert, they are turning their vision for “destination agriculture” into a reality.
