Bryan Blanck DPM, FACFAS is from Reading, Pennsylvania. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from East Stroudsburg University. He then completed medical school at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Blanck has completed a three year residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network in Bethlehem and Allentown, Pennsylvania. Dr. Blanck was appointed chief resident in his third year. Dr. Blanck has previously trained/worked at wound care centers throughout the St. Luke's Health Network. He has also trained at the only dedicated Charcot and Reconstructive Foot Clinic in North America.
Dr. Blanck is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has attained certification via continuing education courses in External Fixation Principles of the Lower Extremity via Small Bones Innovations and Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy via the American College of Foot and Ankle surgeons. Dr. Blanck is also a certified examiner for peripheral nerve damage utilizing the Pressure Specified Sensory Device.
Dr. Blanck has special interest in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and trauma, as well as, peripheral nerve injuries. He is one of only approximately 350 surgeons in the world trained by noted plastic and hand surgeon A. Lee Dellon, MD in surgical techniques to restore sensation and relieve the pain associated with peripheral neuropathy (primarily diabetic peripheral neuropathy). Dr. Blanck has participated and completed training/certification courses in External fixation by Small Bones Innovations, GRAFTJACKET Matrix Science Symposium and Advanced Fixation Workshop by Wright Medical and Advanced Techniques in Surgical Wound Management by Smith & Nephew, Foot & Ankle arthroscopy by the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Blanck was one of the initial investigators for the VAC silver usage with split thickness skin grafts. VAC silver is a subatomospheric pressure device impregnated with silver that helps stimulate wounds to heal. It contains Micro-bonded metallic silver that is uniformily distributed throughout the dressing, providing continuous delivery of silver. Dr. Blanck has also submitted for publishing a new surgical technique for treatment of ulcerations in patients with prior surgeries and non removable hardware.
Dr. Blanck is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, he is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, an associate of the American Professional Wound Care Association and the Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Blanck is the acting President of the Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Association for 2013-2014.
