Adopt for love. Adopt for life. Focusing on education, compassion & affecting the lives of our community in a positive manner.
To volunteer, ask for a volunteer application at either the Camarillo or Simi Valley Adoption Centers. You must be 18 years or older to volunteer.
Check our website, www.vcas.us, to see an updated list of currently available animals and animals waiting for their owners. If you see your pet listed on our website, please call us at 805-388-4341. If you are unable to get through to an operator, come to the shelter your pet is located at and let someone at the front counter know immediately.
The cost for adopting a cat or dog is $125. If the cat or dog is 5 years or older it qualifies for our senior discount and is only $60 to adopt. If you are 65 years or older, you qualify for our senior discount and any cat or dog is only $60. The cost of adoption includes a license, microchip, shots, spay/neuter surgery and 6 weeks of free obedience lessons for dogs. Rabbits are available for adoption for $50. All animals must be fixed prior to adoption.
Often times animals will be sponsored from someone from the public or a staff member. To find out any information about an animal available for adoption, visit the shelter it is located at and ask at the front counter to interact with it.
Please view our hours of adoption prior to coming to adopt and remember that we stop showing animals 30 minutes prior to closing.
Thank you! We hope to see you soon!
All animals that come to Ventura County Animal Services, whether our Camarillo or Simi Valley shelters, are put onto the our website -- www.vcas.us -- which gets updated automatically 24/7 every hour, on the hour.
