The Blue Angels are flying again, and the Vero Beach Air Show was one of only 35 sites in the country where they will appear in 2014. The show held Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, was a huge success. It featured a full demonstration by the elite US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron.

Other top performers appearing in the show included Patty Wagstaff, Skip Stewart, Chris Darnell and his 350+ mph Shockwave Jet Truck, Rob Holland, Julie Clark and her Team Juice Plus+® T-34, “Mr. Airshow” Gene Soucy and wing walker Teresa Stokes, the Lucas Oil Skydivers, David Folk in the Vought F4U-5N Corsair, the Quick Silver P-51 Mustang “The Resurrected Veteran” flown by Scott “Scooter” Yoak, and Fat Albert C-130 Hercules. Rick Grissom was the producer/director of the show, and Wayne Boggs was the Air Boss. Piper Aircraft was Presenting Sponsor of the show, and Scripps was the media sponsor.

The show will also feature static displays, helicopter rides, and a family fun area complete with a mobile rock climbing wall, a free fall ride, zip line, bounce houses, and more. The gates open each day at 8:00 am so get there early to enjoy the fun.

Proceeds benefit the Exchange Clubs of Indian River, Treasure Coast, and Vero Beach for prevention of child abuse and the Veterans Council of Indian River County.

The Blue Angels were the stars of the Vero Beach Air Show on May 10 and 11 in their only performance on the Treasure Coast. The show was held at the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, one of only 35 sites nationwide to host the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration team this year. The show was located on the grounds used by brave men and women during World War II, when it was known as the U. S. Naval Air Station at Vero Beach. Proceeds of $100,000 from the show were divided equally between the Exchange Clubs of Indian River, Treasure Coast, and Vero Beach for the prevention of child abuse and the Veterans Council of Indian River County.
