Pastor Fredrick L. Price, Sr
In a tiny wooden building on May 3, 1927, Virden Grove Missionary Baptist Church was founded by Rev. F.W. Lee, M.S. King and P.W. Ware. Ministers following were Rev. C.D. Brown, Rev. Davis, Rev. Grand and Rev. Bradley, each adding his contributions to further the growth of the church.
On April 2, 1946, Virden Grove was rebuilt under the leadership of Rev. D.A. Spann.
In 1957 the church was rebuilt under the direction and leadership of Rev. L. L. Williams. In March 1985, Rev. Charles Allen Thurman became the pastor. In April 1993, Rev. Jessie Jackson, Sr. was chosen as pastor. In March 2004, Rev. William A. Wheeler, Jr. became pastor.
On October 14, 2012, Fredrick L. Price, Sr., a highly motivated and engaging preacher and teacher, was sent by God and chosen as pastor. He is a native of Greenville, Mississippi.
God has truly been our shield and strength. He has guided us with his counsel, blessed us by his providence and inspired us by his spirit.
