VOTE Ralph Paez for Scottsbluff School Board

I am running for Scottsbluff School Board to help the school district continue in a positive direction.

My name is Ralph Paez. I am a father of four great children, Kobe 15, Adriana 12, Sasha 9, and Zoey 7. My wife is Lisa. I was born and raised here in the Scottsbluff area.

I started my education in the Scottsbluff school system at Roosevelt Elementary School. I attended Roosevelt until the 3rd grade, until we moved to Mitchell. I graduated Mitchell High School in 1995.

I am a Journeyman Lineman for Roosevelt Public Power District. I have been employed there for about 8 years. I am also a small business owner of CPR Renovations.

I have a passion of working with and/or helping children of our community. I have coached youth football for many years, I coach girls softball and basketball. I take part in strength training athletes. I am the founder of the Panhandle Football Camp, which is an annual camp that features former Nebraska Cornhuskers such as Tommie Frazier. 100% of the proceeds from my football camp is donated right back to local high school football programs. The camp has been in existent for 6 years now. I am a member of the Scottsbluff Booster Club. I am a volunteer for the Bluffs Sports Network, where I do color commentating for the Scottsbluff football team and cover high school wrestling. I have hosted send off events for our Scottsbluff teams going to state tournaments. I also am the co-chair for the Call to Action Committee that is currently being assembled here in the area. I am a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus which I hold the office of Treasurer. I am a West Nebraska All-Star committee member.

My drive to be on the school board is help make decisions to make our schools the best possible for our teachers and students with the financial means available. Some current issues I know of are the state required test scores. I know that issue is currently being addressed, but I feel that will always be an issue that we as a district need to try to stay ahead of. The physical condition of the high school is another issue being looked at. That is an issue that will take years to fix unless other financial options are sought. Safety of students and staff is another big issue that is very important. These are just a few of the issues I am excited to tackle as a Scottsbluff School Board member.
