Vote YES for Tipp City Schools on May 5th! Paid for by Tipp City Schools Levy Campaign, Scot J. Clyne, Treasurer, PO Box 381, Tipp City, OH, 45371
Here in the Tipp City - Monroe Township community, we know the importance of high quality schools that provide an excellent education for our community’s children. Tipp City Schools’ tradition of excellence and great reputation have made this a great place to live, raise a family, and do business. Having excellent schools here protects our property values and strengthens our community.
However, without adequate funding the quality of education here – and our community’s future – is at stake. Compared to more than 20 area school districts, Tipp City Schools spends less per student than all but two. In the last four years, Tipp City teachers had salary step increases eliminated and two years with no cost of living raise. Last year, our schools lost many teachers to higher paying jobs, and nearly 40% of our teachers reported they are looking or plan to look for jobs elsewhere. If we continue to lose good teachers, we risk a serious decline in our schools’ educational quality.
The Board of Education realizes this is a top priority and has responded by placing an operating levy on the May 5th ballot to help provide the operating funds needed to keep and attract quality teachers and protect the educational quality of our Tipp City Schools. Our investment with voter approval of this 4.95 mill, five-year operating levy is less than $14.50 a month per $100,000 of property value.
