We are a group of local volunteers, churches, and NGOs working to provide a warm nights sleep for Walla Walla's homeless population.
No one should die of exposure in Walla Walla.
The Walla Walla Warming Center is in full operation for the 2014/15 winter season and will be open all nights the temperature drops to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, or less. If precipitation accompanies the cold, we are open from 25 degrees Fahrenheit, or less.
The shelter is meant to provide a warm, safe, and dry location for anyone who desires. The shelter is staffed with both female and male volunteers throughout the night, and our operational hours range from 7pm to 7am on EVERY cold night.
We try provide a warm meal between 7 and 9pm. We then keep a hot pot of coffee, hot water for tea/cocoa, and some snacks available through the night. We are always looking for volunteers to help us with one of the four shifts (3-4 hours long) or assist in the set up or clean up.
