The Discovery Math Science Magnet and the Renaissance Visual and Performing Arts Magnet offer you and your child a terrific opportunity to become involved.
The Turlock Unified School District’s Renaissance and Discovery Magnet programs provide students with unique, specialized educational experiences. Each magnet emphasizes proficiency in
Standards-based core curricular areas while utilizing differing approaches. The Renaissance VPA Magnet uses the visual and
performing arts to enrich the curriculum, while the Discovery Math Science Magnet teachers expand instruction through the
lens of Math and Science. Each Magnet program also offers specialized elective classes in their respective areas of emphasis for students in grades 2 through 6. Both the Discovery and Renaissance Magnets hold special school wide activities
open to both magnets and parents throughout the school year.
Every morning our school gathers together in the quad area to open the day. During that time, we say the Pledge of Allegiance,
and sing a patriotic song. We make announcements for students and staff. We also have a movement exercise to prepare students for learning for the day.
The Walnut PTA is extremely active in helping to make our school a fabulous place for our children to learn and grow.Their contributions range from providing generous funding for study trips, coordinating educational enrichment activities such as the Reflections Art Show and supporting activities like Family Fitness Nights.
