History -

Waveland Park Lodge #654 was founded in 1929 with 127 charter members. Brother William J. Sayer was the first Worshipful Master. He served again in 1930. The Lodge first housed in the abandoned Plymouth Congregational Church. The worship area was modified into a lodge room. In the 1930's the basement was remodeled for use as an activity room. Immediately following World War II the kitchen was improved. In the 1950's new chairs were purchased for the lodge room and Carl Meilike negotaited the selling of the old chairs to the lodge in Missouri Valley, Iowa. The Altar, pedestals and chairs were refinished and reupholstered in the late 1960's. In the early 70's many of the brothers bought bonds so that the building entrance could be changed to the south side. The bonds were promptly repaid. In the 1980's, Brother Arthur Cox spearheaded the modernizing of the kitchen, a new ceiling and recessed lights were installed in the Fellowship Hall and fans were installed by Don and Anne Driscoll in memory of Brother Authur C. Anderson. In April of 2008 the Lodge building was sold and Waveland Park moved to the Scottish Rite Consistory. Then in September of 2008 the lodge moved into the Westgate Adelphic building which it currently calls home.
