The Webster University Percussion Ensemble has been lead by Professor Erin Elstner since August 2010. Since that time, they have performed five world premiere pieces for percussion ensemble, had three compositions written for and dedicated to them, collaborated in performance with the Webster University Dance Department, rehearsed with Drew Weiss of the Dogtown Allstars and shared the stage in performances with Stanton Moore (funk), Chuck Silverman (latin), Jason Bittner (metal), Danny Seraphine (rock) and Fred Dinkins (studio). They were also involved in an orchestral cymbal clinic with Keith Aleo (classical), a conga class with Thor Anderson (latin/world), a timpani masterclass with Michael Israelievitch (St. Paul Chamber Orchestra) and a clinic with the Robert Glasper Experiment (R&B). Many of these clinics were sponsored by the Zildjian Cymbal Company in conjunction with Drum Headquarters and the Fred Pierce Studio Drum Shop. Members of the ensemble have also performed Carmina Burana (for 2 pianos, percussion and large chorus) under the direction of Dr. Trent Patterson. In November of 2011, 2013 and 2014 the percussionists all attended PASIC (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in Indianapolis, Indiana and in 2012 attended PASIC in Austin, Texas.
