Musings and doings of the Art Department at Wellesley College

Located in the Jewett Arts Center and Pendleton West, the Department of Art offers a full curriculum in Art History and Studio Art. Both of these academic programs provide opportunities to construct an in-depth major or minor in active conversation with faculty advisors. Students may also construct a double major, combining historical inquiry with studio investigation, or select courses and faculty advisors from both programs in support of an interdepartmental major, such as Architecture. Art Department faculty and staff also work closely with students developing majors in Media Arts and Sciences (MAS) as well as Cinema and Media Studies, (CAMS) so some of the classes and faculty advisors for these majors are also located in Jewett and Pendleton West.
