Teaching students DARE Program in grades K-3 and Fifth Grade
Wesclin DARE Program is teaching students in grades K-3 and Fifth Grade.
In grades K-2 students are taught an eight week program with topics of; Who to Call in an Emergency, Why it is Safe to Follow Directions, What is Safe to Touch, Taste, Smell and Eat, Why its Important to Know Your Surroundings, What to Do If Approached by a Stranger, Feelings, What to Do When Angry and What to Do When We See or Hear Hurtful Behavior.
Third Grade is taught a 4 week program with topics of; Laws and Rules to Keep Safe, Becoming a Good Citizen, Drugs May Help or Harm and Handling Conflicts Without Bullying or Violence.
Fifth Grade is taught a 10 week program with topics of; Keeping it Real, Drug Information for Responsible Decision Making, Risk and Consequences, Peer Pressure, Dealing with Stressful Situations, Nonverbal Communication and Listening, Bullying, Helping Others and Getting Help from Others.
