We are a community group lead by Oak Grove Mennonite Church partnering with Adriel Inc. to provide free space for growing food and learning together.
The West Liberty Community Garden was started many years ago by Oak Grove and was operating out of someone's backyard. Four years ago we began partnering with Adriel Inc. and have located our plot behind their greenhouse. We have roughly a 60x40 plot of tilled land that we rope off into plots for community members as well as Adriel residents to use. We also have a community corn and pumpkin patch. We run an organic garden to the best of our abilities; tools are provided. This is not only a space for garden growth, but for personal growth. We are all still in the process of learning what it means to work with the land and work with each other. We share a common vision of a united community founded in sweat, dirt, and harvest. If any of this sounds of interest to you, we would love to have you join our group.
