McDonald's Playland in West St Paul MN
Back in the 70's, my parents used to take me to the McDonald's Playland area that was next to the West St Paul McDonald's on Robert St. They both grew up on the West Side so I spent a lot of time visiting relatives and their old haunts. You'd get on this little funky train in the parking lot and then you'd ride up the hill to the Playland area that featured the old groovy McDonald's characters. Some of the old characters seemed influenced by the old "HR Puffnstuff" kid's show. All that's left of the old Playland now is the mural in the parking lot and an empty lot where the Playland used to be. It was gone by the late 70's as McDonald's started phasing out the characters.
