A. Russomanno, Prop. "Trust Your Car To The Man Who Wears The Star"
From the 1920's until his retirement in 1973, Tony Russomanno worked seven days a week at the little Texaco station in the center of Whippany. This was when gas stations truly were service stations. In the early days, Thomas Edison would have his driver take him on a Sunday ride from his home in West Orange to Tony's station, where Rt. 10 then ended. After Tony retired to Florida, he could watch the space shuttle launch by looking out his window, which he never did. "You can see a lot more on TV," he said.
