We are known locally & by all of the guides as "WAO" - pronounced way-o. This is an acronym derived from the markings on all our equipment & boats. "Adventure Outfitters" is our trade name. At WAO we run daily raft trips each season from mid-April to around Labor Day or so - 7 days a week once we open and get rolling each year. The trips in the Royal Gorge are our bread & butter but are not for everyone. The Royal Gorge is the best whitewater raft trip in Colorado, and can be a challenging trip. Fir those with kids or that are looking for a "softer" adventure we also run trips in Bighorn Canyon daily during our season. Bighorn is More of a beginner rafting experience and is very popular. Many of the WAO guides have been with us for a very long time. WAO employs some of the most experienced guides on the Arkansas River
