Willard Wash: Where did we come from?

Willard Wash started as a non-profit charity to help support medical and transportation needs of an Army veteran named Clint Side. He was suffering from statge 4 Astrocytoma (deadly brain cancer). Although he was in Washington state and at the time Brian Willard was stationed in Kentucky, we knew we had to do something.

Our chairty "Soap for Hope" helped raise funds alongside "Help for Clint" on FB to bless the Side family during that time. He had emergency surgery to remove the giant orange sized cancerous tumor from the front of his brain back in November of 2010. Clint wasn't expected to live past Christmas of 2011. He miraculously lived until the summer of 2014. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

During our journey to provide successful support, we were nicknamed Willard Wash by our pastor who supported the “Help for Clint – Soap for Hope” cause. People gave generously to our cause and also enjoyed the natural glycerin found in our soaps as well as the luxurious lather. Since then, Brian and Leila Willard have learned the importance of having affordable all-natural soaps available to any and everyone who wants/needs them.

How did we learn about soap-making?
Leila Willard was raised in a home where her mother, Carrie Powell, did everything from gardening and baking from scratch to sewing clothes and perfecting the art of making soap (to name a few of the many things she did). Carrie has shared a couple “secret recipes” with Leila and has allowed her to sell them under “Willard Wash”. Her mother’s company “The Fourth Button” is based out of Washington State. For more information on “The Fourth Button” you can visit: http://www.thefourthbutton.com

*Note: Although we strive to be consistant with the appearance and scent of each soap lot, they will differ slightly from batch to batch.*

NOTE: Currently we are located overseas and have sent out inquiries to soap suppliers state-side regarding their shipping policies/rates. If they can no longer supply us due to shipping/business policies, we hope to discover local resources to create the soaps you love.
