Williamsport MOPs ~ Pine Street UMC Group - (570) 323-4604

The Pine Street U.M. MOPs group meets at 441 Pine Street, Williamsport, PA. Our meetings are 9:30am-11:15am - 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month September-May

The Basic Principles of a MOPS Group
Welcoming to all Women
We've all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. And the beauty of it is that we don’t all have to agree with one another but everyone is in and we all need each other.

Mentoring
Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to bounce ideas off of. That’s why we love our Mentor moms, they have sage advice and willing ears.

Leadership Development
You have the ability to do big things. We want to help you gain the confidence to use your voice to change your world.

Honest Conversation
Real talk is liberating. It frees us from assumptions that we are alone in our struggles. We value taking a risk and sharing your story in order to heal someone else from their isolation.

Relevant Teaching
Really, who needs another tutorial on how to make crepe paper flowers? What we provide is mommy friends who get you, hope-filled insight, and speakers who know we've only had three hours of uninterrupted sleep last night so they better keep it interesting.

Creative Activities
Create, imagine, and actually finish a project. We occasionally like to have something "pinteresty" (Yes, that is a made up word. Work with me here.) to make at our meetings. We all need a little time to indulge in a creative endeavor.

Childcare
Look, we all love our kids, but let’s be honest: a little break now and then makes us want to be with them even more. We provide a preschool-style experience for your kiddos that they will love going back to.

What to expect at your first meeting
Practical help
Need some inspiration? At every meeting there will be a speaker or video that gives practical tools and insight into the specific things that are important to you.
Personal mentoring
Meet a Mentor Mom who has been through it all and has great advice and a willing ear.
Time to chat
We moms need each other. At each meeting there will be time to get to know other moms in an accepting small group atmosphere.
You'll get crafty
We like to try new things and be creative. Many groups incorporate a fun craft time into their meeting agenda.
Care for your kids
We call it MOPPETS, and it is an excellent program staffed by trained teachers who will nurture your kids in a preschool-like environment.
Learn to lead
MOPS groups are organized and run by mothers of preschoolers. Gain leadership skills through the training and experience provided by MOPS.
Why Membership?
Become a part of something awesome
Your membership makes it possible for moms around the world to get the support and encouragement of MOPS! Along with the fun perks of being a registered member, you are part of a movement that is changing the world for generations.

Hello, Darling magazine
We publish a super fun, quarterly magazine that covers everything from parenting to relationships. It's called Hello, Darling and reading it feels like taking a breath of fresh air and sipping a chocolate milkshake. That's right, refreshment and chocolate at the same time. What could be better than that? You'll love the honest commentary along with the encouragement to be more fully yourself and to embrace mothering with open hearts.

Get your super cool welcome package!
When you register we'll send you some great swag via snail mail: your first copy of Hello, Darling magazine (formerly MomSense) and the cutest reusable shopping bag (seriously, can you ever have enough cute bags?). Also, check your email every Tuesday for an encouraging email from moms who will feel like your best friends.

Different groups for different people
MOPS
MOPS International is dedicated to meeting the needs of every mother of preschoolers. MOPS strives to attain this vision through the local MOPS group. A MOPS group is started through a local church, and often has a leadership team made up of 8 key positions, although many groups start with only 2 or 3 leaders. Most MOPS groups vary in size from 10 to 200 women. MOPS groups usually meet once or twice a month, and often provide childcare through the MOPPETS program.

Teen
Teen MOPS provides a faith-based, supportive, nonjudgmental environment where teen moms can come together for mentoring and encouragement. In Teen MOPS, the teaching, activities and friendships are all focused on the very distinct needs of teenagers. Teen MOPS helps teen moms become more self-sufficient, confident, mature and giving young women. Teen MOPS groups can meet in public schools or community centers, as well as in churches, and often meet twice a month for teaching and/or activities. Teen MOPS leaders receive additional resources specifically related to teen parenting.

MOMSnext
A group for mothers of school-age kids. At MOPS International we believe Better Moms Make a Better World. This is true during the preschool years and beyond. As mothers enter the school years, new challenges and issues arise, but the need for community and hope remains. For this reason we offer MOMSnext, a ministry to mothers of school-age kids. A MOMSnext group is an open, accepting place for all mothers of school-age kids to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope.

Military
A Military MOPS group is sponsored by a base chapel or local church. Because of the unique situations Military moms face, MOPS International has designed this program with a great deal of flexibility. Military MOPS groups meet once or twice each month and typically provide childcare through the MOPPETS program. Military MOPS meetings include time for developing relationships through teaching, discussion groups, creative activities and fellowship time over a shared meal or snack.
