8th Annual World War II Weekend; October 9, 10 & 11, 2015

This year's Williamsport WWII Weekend will include living history displays and reenactor groups portraying Allied and Axis forces and Home Front, entertainment & shows, guest speakers, a swing dance, concert, food, a raffle, and many other historical displays.
The weekend's events include living history displays and reenactment groups portraying soldiers and civilians during war time, both in service overseas and on the home front. Saturday's activities feature a 1940's fashion show at 2pm, and a USO Dance on Saturday night beginning at 7:00pm, featuring the famous swing band "Jump Alley." Sunday's events will include a church service in the Barn at 10:00am, and the event will conclude on Sunday with a "Salute to Veterans Concert" performed by the Williamsport Town Band.
The Washington County Master Gardeners will be on hand with a Victory Garden display in the wagon shed. Throughout the weekend, there will also be guest speakers and individual unit displays including: a German Field Hospital; US Airborne Paratroopers; US 1st Division; American Red Cross Clubmobile workers; a German Cafe; Vehicle Displays; Weapons Demonstrations and more!
Food will be available throughout the weekend and vendors will be on site with authentic and reproduction WWII items, including collectibles, clothing, field items and period refreshments. And, there will be a Raffle to benefit the event and the Springfield Farm Museum. $1 Raffle tickets will be available at the Town Museum and at the event.
The grounds will be open to the public on Saturday from 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Saturday evening for the dance that begins at 7:00 pm, and Sunday from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. For more information about the event, please see a schedule of events on our web site: http://www.williamsportmd.gov/wwii_weekend.html
