Willis W. (“Bill”) Apple founded Willis W. Apple, P.A. after a multi-year association with John G. Wolfe, III & Associates, PLLC, a Kernersville, North Carolina based law firm. Prior to joining Wolfe, he had over 20 years experience practicing law in Reidsville, North Carolina.
He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his B.S. in business administration in 1973, and both his law and M.B.A. degrees in 1980. Prior to attending graduate school, Bill served as a contracting officer in the U.S. Air Force, and upon separating from active duty, he remained in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, retiring in 1999 as a Lt. Col. in the Staff Judge Advocate corps after a total of 26 years of military service.

Mr. Apple was formally trained and certified by the Supreme Court of Georgia as a mediator in general civil matters. He is certified by the N.C. Dispute Resolution Commission to mediate family financial, civil Superior Court, and Clerk of Superior Court matters, and also is approved by the U.S. Middle District Court to mediate civil matters within its jurisdiction. From 1987-1994, he was an officer with and director of First National Bank of Reidsville and its parent holding company, FNB Financial Services Corporation and served a term as President of both entities.

Mr. Apple has served as President and Chairman of numerous charitable and civic organizations and local/regional economic development organizations. He is currently a member of the board of directors of The Shepherds Center of Kernersville and a member of the Advisory Board of the Kernersville Foundation, Inc. Bill also served as a member of the N.C Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Council, and as liaison between that council and the Family Law Council of that association.

He is the father of two daughters, Mara O’Neil and the late Lindsay Apple. Bill and his wife Susan and two children, Will and Katherine, are members of Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville.
