The Winnebago County Coroner's Office is a law enforcement agency that investigates deaths that occur in Winnebago County.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office is located inside the Public Safety Building in Rockford, IL. The office is operated 24 hours a day and conducts death investigations to determine the cause, manner, and mechanism of death in accordance with the Illinois State Statue.
Coroner Elizabeth "Sue" Fiduccia has been associated with the office since 1972 and she began serving as Winnebago County Coroner in 1995. She continues to serve the community as Coroner and oversees a staff of one investigator, 8 sworn deputies, and two civillian staff members.
