Music Matters is a non-profit organization in Winthrop Massachusetts. Our goal is to bring back a comprehensive music education program for every child starting at the elementary level and going up through high school.
Hi my name is Kelly Russo I'm 16 years old and I'm a junior. Music is a huge part of my life. I came into high school without that outlet for me, and well, it sucks. I'm sure many current and future students feel the same. There are so many young talented students in Winthrop that would greatly benefit from a music program. Music education is being slowly forgotten about in many school systems and hopefully we can break the trend in Winthrop!
I've joined with three other students at Winthrop High (Sean Egan, Moriah Goldblatt, and Jerry Driscoll) to create Music Matters. Music Matters is a non profit organization dedicated to putting the music back in Winthrop. Helping head our efforts are a few of our parents (Walter and Christine Egan, Nancy Harrison, David Russo, and Linda Driscoll).
