“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” - Arthur Ashe
History
Inspired by a need in their community, the group of volunteers who created & executed the wildly successful FAF in 2012 & 2013 have grown in numbers, determination and purpose which has given rise to a new organization. The FAF Coalition was incorporated in 2014 as a New Jersey nonprofit organization which was made possible by the combined efforts of volunteers, professionals, partners, sponsors and the support of the City of Woodbury.
Mission
The FAF Coalition champions initiatives rich in arts, culture and sustainable design as a catalyst for community development and economic revitalization. We execute those initiatives by creating engaging places and innovative experiences that transform the lives of our community.
FAF Coalition Programming
Our programs are designed to support the City’s economic development and encourage a thriving community. Programs include short term interactive experiences and events, fun community launch events to celebrate Woodbury and fundraise and large scale strategic events, long-term installations that create desirable destinations, enrich open space, encourage community interaction, beautification & wellness.
What is Creative Placemaking?
The FAF Coalition is a creative placemaking organization. What does that mean? Creative Placemaking leverages arts, culture and creativity to serve a community’s interest while driving a broader agenda for change, growth and transformation in a way that also builds character and quality of place. In plain language, arts and culture are not just for fun and beautification. We believe they are the engine that can drive economic revitalization.
