The Woodhaven Business Improvement District was created in 1993 by Woodhaven property owners, business investors, and community leaders in order to expand, and actively encourage the full retail and commercial development of Woodhaven's Jamaica Avenue

Woodhaven's Jamaica Avenue, from Dexter Court to 100th Street, is a bustling commercial zone in the heart of the dynamic Woodhaven community. Unique stores and businesses, many locally owned, represent the cultural diversity of the area and offer great services, shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

The Woodhaven Business Improvement District(WBID) is a band of property owners, business men and women, as well as community leaders, dedicated to improving Woodhaven commerce. Established in 1993, the WBID has been an influential part of the ever-changing, ever-growing business of Woodhaven.
