Mission: Woodside on the Move, Inc. is a grassroots community organization which sponsors programs to further tenant advocacy, affordable housing, youth development, senior services, the arts, cultural programs and the business community.
Currently in its 36th year, WOTM’s mission is to provide programs and services that promote neighborhood stabilization, economic growth, and improve the quality of life for those who live, attend school, or work in Western Queens neighborhoods.
Our multifaceted approach to community improvement has introduced an array of initiatives. WOTM runs two After School Programs and a summer camp program (serving over 700 placements annually); and ESL class (serving ~40 adults annually); a housing program focusing on tenant education, landlord-tenant mediations, and tenant-association organizing (serving over 1,000 annually); organizing a local Merchant’s Association; organizing and producing a summer concert series promoting Queens cultural diversity; and beautifying our community by removing graffiti.
We’re proud to say we help lay the foundation for a secure and stable future for Woodsiders and Western Queens residents.
