At Worcester Technical High School (WTHS), all students are challenged to prepare for college and future careers in a global economy. The school is centrally located in Newark, Maryland and serves students in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in the three area high schools that elect to pursue a certificate in a career field as well as academic preparation for college. In recent years, five S.T.E.M. academies: pre-engineering, biomedical, interactive media, business, and renewable energies have been added to the 16 traditional vocation programs of study. State of the art technology used in business and industry is taught in all program areas, with all programs designed to meet current and future local and national job market needs. Together, students, parents, and teachers set high expectations for students to achieve academically, technically, and socially. The motto of Worcester Technical High School is "Teaching the Whole Student."
