Founded in 1947, currently under the Artistic Direction of Jonathan Brennand.

Founded in 1947, the Worcester Youth Orchestras have performed at some of the best concert halls in the Northeast including Mechanics Hall, Shalin Liu Performing Arts Center, Pickman Hall, Tsai Performing Arts Center, the Hanover Theatre, Tuckerman Hall, the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts (NJ) and the Paramount Theatre. They rehearse at Auburn Senior High School weekly, and the baroque orchestra is in residence at Pakachoag Music School, a "Partner in Music".

Auditions are open to all serious string, wind, brass, harp, and percussion students, in grades 3-12 that are enrolled in private lessons.
Audition Requirements:

String players must be able to readily play through 5th position, have 3 octave major and minor scales prepared, and be able to play off the string.
Winds players should be familiar with all of their various clefs and should be able to transpose when applicable.

To audition for WYO, please prepare two contrasting works, three scales (2 major, 1 minor), and be prepared to sight read.
