The Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association (WAYBA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering youth the opportunity for competitive baseball in the Worthington Area. WAYBA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and is funded through sponsorships, donations and volunteer services from local businesses, parents and community members.
WAYBA was founded in 1989 by Denny Grimmius, Swede Lundgren, Steve O'Brian, Rod Noble, Craig Rogers, Denny Weber, Leon Werner, Mark Wibbens, and Joel Wiltrout and was known as the Worthington Area Baseball Improvement Association. Denny Grimmius organized the first traveling team.
In 1994, the name was changed to the Worthington Area Youth Baseball Association (WAYBA).
Countless volunteer hours are what founded and established WAYBA, and this tradition continues today as parents, community members, and area businesses strive to maintain a quality competitive baseball program for our area youth. WAYBA serves youth ages 8 through 18.
