Worthy Village is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing impoverished women and children of Guatemala with a better quality of life.

Worthy Village, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing impoverished women and children of Guatemala with a better quality of life. We do this through education and entrepreneurship. Worthy Village works with 7 villages throughout the "poverty belt" of Guatemala.

With little to no economic opportunity in or near the villages, these communities are left in extreme poverty. In an effort to take them out of poverty, Worthy Village has partnered with the women artisans of the villages and strives to provide them with an outlet for selling their products.

Worthy Village acts solely as an intermediary between the Worthy Artisans and consumers. We've created economic opportunity for these women by importing the products to the U.S. for retail sales online at www.worthyvillage.org. All profits are sent back to the Worthy Women of Guatemala.

In addition, we have implemented a Healthcare Initiative in the villages. We educate all of the women and their children on basic healthcare, hygiene, and provide them with toothbrushes and toothpaste. We teach them the importance of a healthy lifestyle, helping out a neighbor, and how camaraderie can change a village for the better.

Worthy Village will be opening a bilingual library/internet café in the village of Santo Domingo, Jalapa, Guatemala in the summer of 2015. Here, the community can come to do homework, reading, research, etc.
