Founders Charles and Sharon Arthur, nearing the end of their teaching careers, decided to make use of their wealth of knowledge and create a school they knew would work, that wouldn't fail kids, that could get every child to master their subjects, to instill real confidence and enable students to succeed. This vision started with two grades in a small school in the David Douglas District. Over the course of 5 years the vision expanded to six different schools in 6 different districts. Yankton Arthur Academy is one of the last to be created and has now been open and "outstanding" for over 8 years. The only K-8 of all the Arthur Academies, we have found our home in the amazing community of Yankton (St. Helens, OR). Together we have created something so great and successful that my parents may never have imagined it - or maybe they did and that is why we are here. -Mr. Michael Arthur, Principal.
