Yorkville Congregational Church traces its roots to 1834 when settlers formed Baptist and Congregationalist Churches north and south of the Fox River. In 2009 we celebrated our 175th anniversary.Today members of Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ come from througout Kendall County and the Fox River Valley. We are associated with the Fox Valley Association of the Illinois Conference of the United Church of Christ.The United Church of Christ came into being in 1957 with the union of two Protestant denominations-- the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Chrisitan Churches.The UCC is... Christian. We declare ourselves to be part of the Body of Christ- the Christian church Reformed. The UCC's roots stem from the tradition of the Protestant Reformers.Congregational. The basic unit of the United Church of Christ is the congregation. Evangelical. The primary task of the church is to proclaim the Gospel or in Greek evangel- to share the "Good News" of God's love revealed in Jesus Christ
