Youngsville Parks and Recreation Department provides recreational activities for the youth of Youngsville and the surrounding areas.
Spring/Summer Sports (Teeball, Baseball, and Softball) - Our springtime sports programs will begin registration in early January and end in late February. Online registration will be available. Assessments will be held in late February and early March. Dates will be announced early in the registration process. Attendance at assessments for baseball and softball players is mandatory. Teeball players do not attend assessments. Teams will be selected shortly after the last assessment day by a draft system. The regular season will begin in early April. League age is determined by the age of the player on April 30, 2012, except for softball. Softball league age is determined on January 1, 2012. The season for teeball (ages 4-6) will end mid-June. Coach Pitch (ages 7-8) regular season ends mid-June with all-star tournament play continuing into July. Minors (9-10) regular season play ends near the end of June with all-star tournament play continuing into July and possibly beyond. The Majors league (ages 11-12) will play through the end of June and early July with tournament play into July and August. Our girls' softball leagues (ages 7-15) will play from early April through the end of June with tournament play into July. We also have two baseball leagues for older boys (ages 13-14) and (ages 15-19). These games are scheduled in the summer after the conclusion of local high school games and registration will begin in April. For players who wish to explore more opportunities, we also provide select teams for travel play in baseball and softball.
Fall Sports (Teeball, Baseball, Softball) - Our fall sports programs mirror our spring programs in many ways except that league age for softball is based on player age November 1, 2012. Teeball and baseball league age is April 30, 2012 Teeball is for league age 4-6, coach pitch for 7-8, minors for 9, and majors for 10-11, and older boys 12-13. The program is designed to move players up in the fall to the league they will play in the following spring.
